The little gnome Mili lives in the woods, near a village, not far from my town. She loves playing the flute and looking for death-cups.
She has been living in this forest for a long time. Although she does not look older than nine, she is entire 120 years old, but counted in gnome years this is really, very young age.
Some time ago Mili’s brother whittled down a flute for her from an oak sprig, and she, by herself, learned to play. She loves to sit on a tree branch and to watch the sunset while playing her favourite instrument. She is such a skilled player that whenever there is a party in the woods, she is honored guest and entertains everybody. When her little lips come close to the flute, the amazing sound touches the heart of everyone present and nobody stays seated.
The little gnome loves spending her time with her friends Coney and Flo (soon I will tell you about them too)
You can catch Mili if you show her a big sweet. She absolutely adores the strawberry pie that Flo’s grandmother bakes.
And like every living creature there are things that this little one does not like. You will never see her run barefoot. She does not like the prickling grass but if she comes across some forest moss, she takes off her little boots and steps on it. She says it is very pleasant, as if someone is tickling you.
Mili also does not like talking to Mr. Mole. Since she read the story of “Thumbelina” she has a different opinion about him. She hides and fears that he might decide to marry her.
If you go to the woods with a book in your hands and you start reading aloud, be sure that little Mili is somewhere close to you, listening with bated breath.

O, how lovely, your little gnome! ♥ Barbara
